Wapsie Ridge News **Updated 08/10/10**

Trying a couple different things at Wapsie this year...

  • Feel Free to play a bean bag game after you golf - it's in the clubhouse - just ask the staff or Shirley.
  • Hole Signs are done except for a couple sponsor signs.  We think it's a nice addition to the course and took the place of some old, worn out beanches.
  • The course has survived heavy rains and flooding well to date but we sure hope there is not much more rain the rest of season!  Reseeding and repair of dmamaged turf will come in September.  Dan, Loren and entire crew trying to keep grass alive and healthy in the most challenging season to date.  Thank you for your patience and understanding...sorry about the gnats and mosquitoes - impossible to keep up on that...
  • Loren is also in the process of installing new doors in the clubhouse
  • Making new log tee markers - adding yellow tees between white and red.  (See scorecard for yardages)
  • Brandon Niebuhr's last day this year is August 14th and he's heading to Iowa State and planning to become an architect (go Cyclones!).  Brandon has done the BEST job on the course for us and we wish him the best at Iowa State!
  • Kory Heineman's last day in the clubhouse is August 18th and then back to college he goes!  He's the best, isn't he?  We will miss him!!
